Director of Operations, Finance, and Advancement – Job Description

The Director is responsible for the overall well-being of the CCS’s operations, these types of managers tend to have a big-picture perspective. They are able to determine needs within the organization and connect groups to work together to solve problems as they arise. They need to be critical thinkers who can analyze situations and make decisions geared toward the organization’s best interests rather than those of a single department. This may mean that they also need to resolve conflicts as they arise and develop policies and guidelines for how to complete tasks.

In terms of skills and abilities, operations managers need a healthy mix of hard and soft skills. The

Director needs mechanical aptitude and knowledge of building infrastructure, but most certainly will use technology and a variety of related software programs, including customer management tools and budgeting and accounting software. They also need to be able to manage people effectively using good listening, motivation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

Duties and Responsibilities

Spiritual

• Models a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in speech, actions, attitudes

• Actively involved in church

• Follows Matthew 18 principle in dealing with interpersonal conflict

• Encourages students to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faith

Operations

• Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices

• Manage all aspects of vehicle and heavy equipment rentals

• Establish contracts and pricing and ensure proper maintenance of building/grounds

• Serve as primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health/safety agencies

• Maintain school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive us of facilities

• Promote the safety, health, and comfort of students and employees in school buildings and grounds

• Ensure that all use of facilities conform to board policy/guidelines

• Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with electrical, plumbing,

HVAC systems, interior/exterior of building, and school grounds

Finance

• Examine financial data and use them to improve financial stability

• Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way

• Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant

• Manage budgets and forecasts

• Develop reports for Board of Education and Society reference as a result of interpreting material provided by the school accountant

• Work closely and cooperatively with external auditors and accountant to oversee and/or report on the operations of the school

• Prepare payroll reports

• Maintain budget and tracking expenditures/transactions of school programming

• Plan and conduct an effective Annual Fund campaign and assist in determining all annual fund goals

• Lead CCS’s major fundraising efforts and evaluate the profitability of events and adjust where needed

• Oversee financial services for tuition and incidental billing, fee collection, gift income, and campaign giving

Advancement

• Formulate strategic and operational objectives and support school growth and development

• Find ways to increase quality of experiences at CCS

• Work closely with Board of Education and school leadership to develop/implement policies, procedures, and systems to promote the smooth and efficient operation of the organization

• Provide support in the development, implementation, and marketing of school programming

• Assist in developing short-term and long-term strategic development plans and assist in their implementation

• Develop and enact a plan for scholarship funding through the Timothy Fund with the guidance of the

Timothy Fund Board

• Organize effective programs to help facilitate the healthy financial future of the school

• Develop effective and strategic relationships with the philanthropic community, business community the school board and support organizations

• Establish sponsorship and donor relationships with the goal of increasing funding for CCS scholarship funds, annual fund, future campaign funding, and special projects

• Effectively organize a fundraising committee who will select, train, and lead volunteers for fundraising efforts

• Establish and maintain a calendar for financial campaigns

• Manage the school’s annual budget through effective fiscal management

• Oversee appropriate “thanking”, receipting appreciation, visiting, donors, establishing relationships with new donors, donor research, and upkeep of donor database

• Assist in the development of a “State of the School” report to be shared with all donors, constituents, and board leadership annually

• Research, apply, and follow through with grant requirements for special projects / opportunities to enhance the school experience at CCS

• Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques to encourage efficient school function

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $36,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
