While all current positions have the option of starting fully remotely, our offices are available for all employees to work from on a voluntary basis. We strongly prefer candidates be located near Seattle for this role.

C+C is an award-winning integrated marketing agency based in Seattle all about changing behaviors for good. We help our clients motivate people to embrace a variety of social and environmental actions. Like choosing an energy-efficient appliance. Applying for college programs. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Making good financial decisions. Taking public transit. Saving water. Basically, doing things to make the world a better place. The company has offices located in Seattle, Portland and Boston, plus fully remote employees working in nine other states (and counting). C+C has been steadily growing since it was founded in 2005 and currently has 90 FTEs.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
C+C is looking for a Director of Finance who is equally comfortable working with senior management or rolling up their sleeves to get the books closed. The role is a combination of technical accounting and financial operations so the ideal candidate will be a “swiss army knife” who has a variety of past experience and who also enjoys learning something new every day. This is a role with a career path and growth potential. The Director of Finance will report to the Chief Talent Officer with a dotted line report to our two owners and to C+C’s (newly-retired-but-still-working-part-time) CFO. The role of the CFO will be more mentor than manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Management of 3-person finance team
Overall responsibility for payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing
Contract review and preparation
Accounting system “back office” maintenance
Monthly financial statements
B&O taxes: city and state
Tax registration for new payroll states
Cash flow management and banking
Client Audits
Client prepared schedules for CPA in support of annual tax returns
Working daily to support to Account Services, Creative and Admin teams>
REQUIREMENTS:
Our ideal candidate is quick learner with excellent communications skills, maturity and a sense of humor. You are a self-starter, a question asker and problem solver. You are looking for a job with high transparency and no drama (we are 90+ nice truly nice humans who enjoy working together.) You care about people and the planet and want to work for company that is making a difference.
Additional requirements include:
At least 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 of those years as an Accounting/Finance Manager or Controller
Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for contributing to the work culture of the agency
Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred
Experience with and aptitude for accounting systems
Experience in an agency or service industry preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office– Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
