Manager of Payroll

We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Manager to join our Finance/Accounting Team. The optimal candidate will have an innovative and growth mindset with a solutions-oriented focus in optimizing the payroll process, while being comfortable with change in a fast-paced growing organization.

What You’ll Do:

· Lead the processing bi-weekly and weekly multi-state payrolls for 7,000+ employees

· Own relationship with external Payroll provider providing appropriate level of oversight

· Leadership role in compliance, auditing and internal controls with respect to Payroll

· Serve as primary liaison between People & Culture, Accounting, Legal and Field operations as applicable

· Maintain payroll staff by supervision, training, and recruitment, as necessary

· Communicate with various department leaders to make sure payroll information is received in a timely fashion/manner

· Be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and reconciliation of all employee payroll data records, including tax withholdings, 401k deductions, direct deposit information, and other employee benefits in our payroll software (UKG)

· Process and record manual payroll checks as needed

· Correspond with federal and state agencies as needed including registering for new tax withholding or state unemployment accounts

· Assist in payroll tax filing reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are accurately, quickly, and appropriately resolved

· Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures

The Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field preferred

· 5+years of payroll and accounting experience with previous experience in leadership role

· Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

· Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel

· Excellent analytical skills

· Keen attention to detail

· Experience with UKG preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment

· Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details·

· For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds·

· Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
