Accountabilities
Conducts/oversees recurring financial reviews with clients to include current trends relative to historical performance, variance analysis & industry benchmarks
Develop, implement, and deliver standardized reports, dashboards, executive-level summary reports and presentations to effectively communicate program performance to operational leaders and stakeholders, including physicians
Evaluates key performance metrics to support value-based contracts, quality measures, gap of care opportunities, patient access metrics, and other quality programs and initiatives
Develops and presents compensation models based on the inputs provided by clients’ senior management
Ability to plan and schedule the work of others
Provide broader support for other operational and strategic initiatives
Ability to document and streamline internal operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall client satisfaction
Role and Responsibilities:
Provides oversight to team in the review of complex financial information and reports
Ability to tie operational metrics to financial performance and provider compensation
Engage clients to help shape, implement and report on their overall strategic initiatives
Review and interpret monthly financial statements including the balance sheet and income statement
Review and approves physician practice start-up forecasting and financial and accounting process implementation
Ability to gain confidence of client personnel
Ability to collect and organize data to draw valid conclusions with attention to detail
Able to collaborate and contribute as a strong team member, and have good communication skills, orally and in writing.
Ability to communicate the financial performance and recommendations to client senior level leadership
Follow guidelines on engagement as established by other team members who are leading the project effort
Coordinates with Finance team and other departments to complete projects
Coordinates year-end tax planning discussions with clients and CPAs
Track and record time spent on client projects
Provides transactional advisory services for Mergers and Acquisitions
Stays current with healthcare topics and communicates to clients, managers, and team members of the possible impact of those topics
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, or another non-related field with an MBA/MHA
Minimum of 5-7 years Industry and financial analysis experience
Strong knowledge of Excel & relational databases
Experience mentoring/coaching peers
Ability to work on multiple engagements/clients simultaneously
Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting multiple stakeholders at different levels
Working knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of medical reimbursement methodology and industry benchmark organizations such as MGMA
Previous experience working with an insurance payer
Ability to model recommendations in Tableau or other Business Intelligence Tool
Knowledge of Practice Management Systems and practice workflows
Previous experience working with QuickBooks
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
