Sr Business Manager Strategy & Analytics, Capital Markets
This role is for a senior manager to lead the Capital Markets Strategy & Analytics team. The team works closely with Capital Markets stakeholders to provide monitoring, analytics, and strategic insight for Capital Markets leadership. In this role, you will set the vision for the team, initiate projects that can add value to that vision, and manage a team of two associates to execute against those projects. To be successful, it will be important to develop close relationships within the Capital Markets business, the vertical M&A teams, and partner functions. All three groups will be critical to enabling the Capital Markets business in alignment with our Commercial client strategies.
While the core skillsets of this role are aligned to other Commercial BA Senior Manager positions, there are a few unique opportunities:
Learning the Capital Markets product areas including syndicated lending, debt and equity capital markets, derivatives, sales & trading, equity research, mergers & acquisitions, structured partnerships, and others. This is an opportunity to develop expertise in a space that spans all of our Commercial clients, but is generally less well understood within Capital One.
Owning the vision and agenda for a team that is unique within the Horizontal M&A function. This role will have the opportunity to articulate and execute against a clear vision to help motivate the team, direct priorities, and inform the right operating model. This is the perfect context to gain practice building this competency, which will be increasingly important at more senior levels.
Broad business / stakeholder coverage with primary customer on the CBLT (Commercial Bank Leadership Team). You and your team will be the primary relationship coverage point of contact for a wide set of business leaders, including Steve Tulip, Head of Capital Markets.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis
At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis
At least 1 year of experience in people management
At least 1 year of experience in project management
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis
5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis
2+ years of experience in people management
2+ years of experience in product development
2+ years of experience in financial modeling
2+ years of experience in economic forecasting
2+ years of experience in project management
