Senior Finance Director, Staff & Enterprise Services
The Staff & Enterprise Services (ES) Finance team brings data, analytics, and insights to shape financial decisions and strategy at Capital One. The team is composed of associates with diverse skills and backgrounds who deliver strategic perspectives to Capital One’s Infrastructure groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of 4 finance professionals and 15 analysts providing in-depth financial analysis and strategic planning across a $2B operating expense portfolio including Finance, Human Resources, Risk Management, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Overhead, Workplace Solutions, Enterprise Supplier Management, and External Affairs
Synthesize and communicate data-driven insights to advise EC members in prioritizing resources aligned to strategic plans
Provide reporting, analysis, and forecasting to facilitate strategic decision making and to track performance to operating goals and imperatives
Assess business opportunities and risks with an orientation to long-term value creation and delivering appropriate financial performance
Achieve a deep understanding of the goals and imperatives of the Staff and ES organizations with the context of the company’s overarching goals and imperatives; identify risks, opportunities and drive collaboration to achieve results
Communicate effectively at the highest levels of the organization, articulate key messages clearly, and respond both to questions and issues knowledgeably and with confidence
Management of a cross-functional team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to accomplish a common goal
Play a critical role as a leader in the Finance organization, bringing an enterprise-level perspective to support technology, diversity, talent and process improvement efforts
A successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
Ability to build and manage robust financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
Demonstrated ability to produce senior management presentations
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage highly matrixed cross functional teams
Proven leader with the ability to drive results on with large scale deliverables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 10 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
At least 5 years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team
At least 7 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
15+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
12+ years of experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
12+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
