CannabizTeam – Executive Search and Staffing Looking for Accounting Clerk at Lowell, MA Full Time

CannabizTEMP is actively seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our client, an industry-leading Cannabis Company in Lowell, MA. The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in updating financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling bank statements. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will provide essential accounting and clerical support to the accounting department. Proficiency in accounting principles and procedures, along with a keen eye for numbers, is crucial to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of daily accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
• Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
• Prepare bank deposits, general ledger posting, and statements
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Daily entry of key financial transactions into the database
• Process accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts using accounting software programs
• Review, code, and process payments for accounts payable
• Handle accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
• Adhere to established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
• Perform tasks related to the accounts payable function
• Ensure effective communication through written and oral channels

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus
• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
• Familiarity with accounting software, such as QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
• Well-organized and effective written and oral communication skills

Additional Requirements:

• Must be 21 years old
• Must pass a comprehensive background check
• Ability and willingness to work varied hours/days and some holidays
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

Working Conditions: While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Must sit for extended periods using a computer while maintaining focus.

Work Location: On-site location

Payrate: $22/hr.
