Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. (NASDAQ: CLMT) is a master limited partnership and a leading independent producer of high-quality, specialty hydrocarbon products in North America. Calumet processes crude oil and other feedstocks into customized lubricating oils, solvents and waxes used in consumer, industrial and automotive products and produces fuel products including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the tracking and analysis of monthly expenses and capital spending as well as ensuring accurate and timely receipts. This position requires continuous attention to detail, strong reconciliation skill, and a high level of analytical and interpersonal skills.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Perform monthly financial close for plant
•Prepare and record monthly general ledger journal entries
•Track expenses to determine trends and opportunities for improvement
•Ensure that purchasing and receiving personnel are entering timely and accurate receipts in accordance with Purchase to Pay policy, including ensuring these receipts are in the appropriate period
•Investigate and explain monthly spending variances to budget
•Research and resolve questions related to accounts payable (invoice coding, supplier issues, etc.).
•Provide capital project spending and operating expense data for monthly reports
•Assist with turnaround spending tracking with variance analysis
•Provide support and analyses to corporate accounting personnel and well as external and internal auditors
•Participate in identification and execution of cost reduction opportunities
•Review and Complete month-end reports, receipts not vouchered (GR/IR), and review blocked invoices
•Provide sales and manufacturing cost data to Sales personnel as requested
•Assist in the preparation of financial presentations and annual operating budgets
•Additional routine non-accounting duties as assigned
•Bachelor of Science in Accounting or related degree with at least three years’ experience
•Experience in refining, chemical processing or other manufacturing concern preferred
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
•Intermediate ability with MS Office suite applications, particularly Excel
•Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with employees across the entire organization
•Prior ERP software experience (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, etc.)
•SAP experience is preferred
•Prior experience with Hyperion preferred
•Prior SAP ERP software experience (Oracle, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, etc. if no SAP experience)
•Experience in refining, chemical processing, or other manufacturing concern
