As a Finance Manager at Buffalo Center for Health Equity, you will be responsible for the integrity of the general ledger accounting documented in QuickBooks, preparation of financial statements, budgeting, financial analysis of operations, financial reporting and compliance related to all funding sources.
The Finance Manager will ensure that all funds are used for their intended purpose. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include : Maintaining fiscal control of the chart of accounts and accounting records for all transactions and assets.
Responsible for general accounting entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable Payroll and Human Resource supervision of Co-Employment Contract with AlcottHR including new hires, terminations, and any change in employment terms.
Facilitating all changes to employee benefits and employee policies as documented in the employee handbook. Evaluating proper allocation of invoices for payment ensuring all expenditures reconcile to approved budgets for each grant and contract.
Ensuring timely recording and payment of vendor invoices to ensure the integrity of the financial statements. Monitoring and projecting cash flow, reporting to and updating the Chief Operating Officer Maintaining electronic and paper files for accounts payable, accounts receivable / invoices, original grant and contract award documentation and all general accounting transactions.
Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing fiscal operating effectiveness of the organization.
Preparing the annual budget, financial forecasts and proformas as required. Establishing and updating accounting policies.
Ensuring acceptable accounting principles are followed and compliance with all applicable laws. Ensuring accuracy and compliance of each Grant or Contract Working with Program Staff to draft and review subcontractor agreements and addendums for grant and fiscal compliance.
Providing comprehensive monthly reports including Balance Sheet and Income Statement. Preparing explanations for material variances compared to budget.
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and productivity. Building and managing relationships with banks, insurance, audit firms and other vendors.
Responsible for annual external audit and all requests for audit information from funding sources. Assisting staff with grant application budgets.
Monitoring and completing cash transactions, the processing of bank transfers to support accounting activity and review monthly reconciliation of all accounts.
Ensuring errors are researched and resolved. Updating bank signature cards as needed. Depositing checks at the bank and maintaining copies for audit documentation.
Overseeing the Information Technology consultant for the organization to ensure the security and accessibly of data is maintained with unavoidable interruptions.
Reviewing the need, funding, and purchase of all equipment. Maintaining corporate asset records for all equipment. Beginning work on time and conform to work hours as scheduled.
Other Duties and / or projects assigned by the Chief Operating Officer. You are someone who has : 4-year degree in accounting.
Strong analysis and decision-making skills. Non-profit and grant management experience preferred. Experience developing and implementing financial plans.
Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving results. Experience working effectively in a team environment.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with people at all levels of an organization. Exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation and writing abilities.
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service. Reliable and enthusiastic in carrying out the mission of Buffalo Center for Health Equity.

Compensation range is 65K – 85K, commensurate with experience.
