JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Market Chief Financial Officer will oversee the financial performance and integrity of a portfolio of facilities across a market, ensuring optimal margin optimization and managing financial risks. As a key member of the Hospital’s Market Leadership Team, they will participate in annual plans, operational improvements, and financial controls. Responsibilities include identification and assessment of operational optimization, monitoring action plans, and communicating opportunities and progress to Hospital VP of Operations Finance, Market President, and Corporate Leadership. The CFO will also monitor financial performance at facility, regional, and market levels, ensuring alignment with budget expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Evaluate daily and weekly operating results, ensuring alignment with targets
· Establish and maintain sound financial controls, approving expenditures up to an established level
· Monitor overall financial position relative to budget expectations
· Coordinate with various departments to review key budget assumptions and resource utilization
· Prepare financial forecasts, monitor performance versus budget, and implement cash management controls
· Drive actionable tactics for overall margin improvement
· Coordinate with the leadership team for major strategic and financial plans, including capital expenditure programs
· Review and ensure the effectiveness of all financial systems and processes across facilities
· Assist in the development of new business by analyzing the feasibility of new programs.

· Track record of delivering improved financial performance in a complex, matrix organization
· Establishes realistic and aggressive financial goals consistent with corporate, market, and facility priorities
· Gauges external factors and trends for a forward-looking perspective in business strategy and forecasting
· Demonstrates business and analytical skills to identify gaps in the current business plan and refresh financial outlook and strategy as needed
· Actively engages leadership and physicians in improving short- and long-term results
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or a relevant field (required)
· Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health (preferred)
· CPA designation (highly preferred).
Experience:
· Minimum 5-7 years of progressive finance experience in the healthcare industry
· Proven success in a finance leadership role in healthcare
· Experience using data to drive financial and operational improvement
· Skilled at team building and collaborative management
· Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Moderate travel may be required, depending on need
