Full Job Description
Responsibilities:
Brasfield & Gorrie, one of the largest
construction companies in the nation with over $5 billion in revenue
and 13 offices in the U.S., has an exciting opportunity available for
a Senior Corporate Tax Accountant in Birmingham, Alabama. The Senior
Corporate Tax Accountant will join a growing, fast pasted,
team-oriented department reporting to the Director of Tax. The ideal
candidate is thorough, motivated, and ready to take ownership of
challenging and complex projects. The Senior Corporate Tax Accountant
will be responsible for activities listed below.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following
(other duties may be assigned):
- Conduct tax research on variety of
topics - Prepare quarterly income tax estimate
- Prepare schedules and workpapers for all book/tax differences
- Prepare monthly incentive reporting
- Assist in
partnership accounting - Administer B&G Portal used for
reporting to various groups - Respond to tax notices
- Process quarterly tax payments
- Assist in tax
accounting for various entities and Joint Ventures - Coordinate special projects with consultants and outside counsel
- Manage tax account reconciliations
- Stay up to
date on current tax laws and report on relevant changes - Maintain accounting for note holders
Education – Skills
– Knowledge – Qualifications & Experience:
The successful
candidate will have at least 3 years of public accounting experience.
Experience working on multi-state partnership accounts is required.
Additional qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and
CPA certification required - Master’s Degree in Tax
Accounting preferred - Technology expertise including strong
proficiency in Excel as well as desire to develop knowledge of new
technologies to gain efficiencies - Strong communication
skills and the ability to present research findings concisely - Solutions-oriented, hard-working, and goal-driven
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships
- A self-starter who proactively solves problems
- Focused, detail-oriented with the ability to work quickly and
