Overview

The Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk plays a pivotal role in managing the receivables process within the finance department. This position involves maintaining accurate records of incoming payments, following up on outstanding invoices, and ensuring timely collections to optimize cash flow.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain excellent customer service as the first line of communication for all accounting related issues for our Direct Sales Distributors (DSD) throughout the United States. Respond to inquiries and questions via email or telephone.
• Research both customer and DSD account status, billings, collections, and adjustments. Make the necessary changes to the accounting software.
• Explain company policies and procedures to DSDs when questions arise.
• Maintain the Customer and Vendor files related to the DSD accounts.
• Create uploads for payment receipts and deposits.
• Reconciliation of cash accounts related to DSD transactions, including the credit card accounts, cash clearing and undeposited funds accounts.
• Assist with NSF transactions – recording, posting, tracking, and sending emails to DSDs for collection purposes.
• Communicate with Corporate accounts to ensure timely collections. Provide invoices and monthly statements, as needed.
• Attend meetings with accounting team and regional contacts to review and make changes to monthly Broker Reports
• Work closely with Accounting Manager and CFO to complete weekly and monthly reports, create invoices that relate to the month-end Broker Report for each DSD, and post/pay Broker Report balances, maintain master tracking sheet.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting highly preferred
• Proven experience (typically 2-3 years) in an accounts receivable or related role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial records.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Effective communication skills for interactions with customers and internal teams.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to accounts receivable.

Compensation Range: $60K – $75K
