Job Description & Responsibilities
Role: Senior Accountant
Location: San Jose
Reports to: General Manager
We are seeking an individual that is highly motivated, detail oriented and ready to join a fast pace company. This person will fill our open Senior Accountant position. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Company in all aspects of the company’s accounting and finance duties. The person will be in charge of the general ledger, job costing, accounts payable and receivable functions. We are seeking someone that is highly motivated, has an ownership mentality, and an active learner.
Education & Experience Qualification:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- BS/BA in accounting or finance from an accredited university
- 5 years of staff accountant level experience working with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and job costing modules.
- Excellent computer skills that include good typing abilities and understanding of the Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) are essential.
- Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate multiple projects
- Ability to read, analyze, and fill out financial reports
- Ability to apply mathematical and analytical skills to related accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to define problems and find solutions
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the Month-End Close
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
- Help and be available for payroll backup
- Perform weekly invoicing
- Prepare weekly check runs
- Experience with job costing
- Prepare and maintain corporate debt schedules
- Maintain the corporate fixed assets schedule and make monthly depreciation entries
- Assist in preparing Adhoc financial reporting
- Manage of accounting system and general ledger
- Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork is complete and recommend any system changes
- Performs other office duties as needed
