Business Overview:
The Finance Americas COO department leads the Finance function transformation initiatives aligned with strategy and answering regulators and business needs. The team leads and guarantees the effective deployment of the Finance TOM, by monitoring and driving major and complex projects through close collaboration with various departments within the BNP Paribas group, mainly the Business, PMO and Technology organizations in New York, New Jersey, California, Montreal, Mumbai, London and Paris.
The team works simultaneously on a wide range of projects arising from business and regulatory changes and strategic initiatives. The team is also responsible for the monitoring and management of the transformation portfolio and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:
Business Analyst has broad-based responsibilities for the design, documentation, communication and implementation of Finance Systems and Process changes initiatives at both a Legal Entity and IHC level. The hire will work as either a Project Manager or as a team member of Finance projects. This includes:
Conduct/facilitate working group meetings; prepare agendas, document-meeting outcomes and communicate to stakeholders.
Elicit, analyse, and document business user requirements and processes.
Documentation of existing and proposed data and process workflows, including the identification of gaps, weaknesses and areas of efficiencies and improvements
Develop appropriate training plans and initiatives for newly implemented systems and processes
Support ongoing enhancement efforts of the overall control environment, including upstream processes and controls.
Remediate issues and escalate effectively.
Ensure on-time quality delivery of projects and activities assigned.
Coordinate with other groups within the organization (business groups, IT and PMO organizations) in New York, New Jersey, California, Montreal, Mumbai, London and Paris.
Minimum Required Qualifications
7-10 years of work experience in the field of accounting, audit and / or Information management and implementation in the financial services industry.
Ability to manage Junior Business analyst
Strong self-direction and initiative; willingness to take complete ownership over projects and tasks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including business process and data analytics.
Accounting and basic general ledger structure knowledge required.
Experience must include business analysis, data sourcing, business/ functional specification, and application testing.
Ability to understand financial products and system architectures, including accounting business processes including financial and management reporting (e.g. IFRS and US GAAP), month-end closing process, regulatory reporting, entity consolidations and multi-currency accounting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and explain complex issues clearly and concisely to audiences of varying technical or accounting levels.
Ability to work effectively in geographically dispersed cross-functional teams.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
Knowledge of project management skills, JIRA, SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CA
Fluency in one of more of these languages strongly preferred: Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese.
Knowledge of emerging solutions and analytic tools preferred, e.g. robotics automation, Alteryx etc.
University Degree in Finance or Accounting related subject preferred.
Regulatory Reporting knowledge preferred.
