Director of Corporate Accounting
Biomerics is a world class, full-service medical device contract manufacturer providing material and process technology for the interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, vascular access, and advanced surgical device markets. In addition to contract manufacturing of medical devices, The Biomerics management team oversees a related business unit referred to MedVenture Health (MVH). MedVenture partners with entrepreneurs, physicians, and management teams to advance healthcare products, services, and technologies that address unmet medical needs. MVH provides expertise and capital resources to assist in achieving growth objectives by investing in healthcare companies at a stage in their development where an infusion of capital and strategic assistance will significantly enhance value.
Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic, results driven individual to join as our Director of Corporate Accounting to oversee all accounting activities for both Biomerics and MVH. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be instrumental in improving the speed and accuracy of the company’s accounting, while improving our internal controls and documentation of core functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all accounting activities across the organization, to ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory guidelines, and internal financial policies and procedures
Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the accounting team
Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders to develop, document, and implement scalable accounting processes and ensure consistent application by each business unit
Design and implement certain systems improvements to improve accounting close efficiencies
Provide consultant-level services to the organization’s controllers and finance personnel across the company
Verify the integrity and accuracy of financial operations, safeguarding organizational assets and developing efficient accounting practices to align with business processes
Monitor updates to GAAP and implement changes corporate wide
Manage the external audit process by acting as lead point of contact and providing analysis / compilation of information on a quarterly and annual basis
Ensure sufficient financial controls are in place and followed
Assist with the implementation ERP software as needed
Other special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Requirements:
4-year degree in Accounting or similar is required
Master’s degree in Accounting and / or CPA preferred
GAAP expertise and prior demonstrated ability to conduct research when required
Experience managing and leading teams in a fast-paced environment
Minimum 10 years of experience of progressive accounting / finance experience (manufacturing and medical a plus)
Strong Computer / ERP skills
Strong analytical skills
Highly organized; Able to successfully balance numerous competing priorities
Maintain the ability to work both independently and in teams
Fluency in English
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated, self-starter
