The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting department management and providing full accountability of accounting and billing cycles, financial reporting and budget planning. The Finance Manager demonstrates BGIS values in communications with clients and team members.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting
Responsible for monthly and quarterly company and department financial statements, business planning and financial reporting and analysis.
Ensure timely completion of full cycle accounting.
Client support – ensure timely and accurate billing to client adhering to Shell’s internal accounting requirements. Be a point of contact for addressing any queries from client groups and satisfactorily resolve any issues relating to financial information or documentation.
Develop and schedule AP/PA/AR/Other monthly cutoff timeline.
Manage and Review funding request. Ensure timely receipt of fund and release of payments.
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.
Review billing/Cost Allocation to Shell’s LOBs. Coordinate with internal LOB(s) for a timely response.
Review results monthly with Controller. Initiate discussion with FMS Operation team to manage overage risk.
Response to Auditor’s request/inquiry.
Financial Planning and Analysis
Perform monthly variance and outlook analyses.
Deliver financial results to internal/external clients. Participate in management meetings to discuss and solution emerging issues.
Manage ad hoc inquiry/request from internal/external clients related to operational and capital project costs. Ensure a timely and accurate response.
Coordinate with various LOBs and clients to setup timeline for forecast/budget. Organize, compile, and review feedback form team members to maintain scheduled delivery.
Prepares various financial reports to help drive financial strategies and business unit performance.
Participate in the development and implementation of new reporting tools and administer those tools going forward.
Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
Five years of experience in financial analysis and in data mining, data analysis and data modeling techniques.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including ability to create reports from scratch and work with complex financial models
Prior experience with Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, and SAP preferred.
Able to work well with all levels of internal personnel and personalities and external customers.
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative data collection, metrics and analysis required.
Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.

Ability and willingness to travel.
Current valid driver’s license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.
