OVERVIEW: The Accounts Payable Generalist primarily ensures the proper and timely booking of payments for global accounts payables and employee expenses. This position also works closely with the legal team processing check requests for filing fees for client matters. This position reports directly to the Accounts Payable Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and fulfill check requests from legal teams in a timely manner utilizing proper coding
• Follow check inspection guidelines as required to ensure all checks meet validation requirements (e.g. MICR line)
• Track approval authority delegations and adhere to approval guidelines for invoice processing
• Review invoices for any questionable items or pricing discrepancies.
• Process non-complex accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and corporate credit card statements accurately and in accordance with coding and deadline requirements
• Upload invoice and any supporting documents/approvals into tracking system
• Process invoice cancellations and check voids as necessary
• Prepare and perform check runs for multiple office locations
• Deliver checks to requestor as required per location
• Research and respond to ticket inquiries regarding status of payments
• May also be required to perform other duties to assist with team success, such as research, process improvement, special projects, reporting, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree in Business or related field a plus
• 1+ years of experience performing accounts payable or other general accounting roles
• Familiarity with Aderant or Elite experience a plus
• Proficient data entry skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Proficient in use MS Office Suite
• The ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers
• Works with integrity and maintains confidentiality
• Works well in a team environment
• Ability to work overtime when necessary
