POSITION SUMMARY:

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency that focuses on issues critical to the region’s success, including growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults and workforce solutions. ARC is dedicated to unifying the region’s collective resources to prepare the metropolitan area for a prosperous future. This is done through professional planning initiatives, the provision of objective information and the involvement of the community in collaborative partnerships.

The Financial Services Analyst, Senioris responsible for performing day-to-day financial, accounting and grants administration functions for the Financial Services Group in the Center for Strategic Operations and Administration. This position will report directly to the Operations Director of the Financial Services Group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide central accounting support in a variety of areas including financial software technical support, cash management, and audit support; allocates Agency shared costs among accounts; compose, enter, and reviewjournal entries to ensure proper accounting debits and credits; extract and analyze ledger activity and prepare account reconciliations;
• Provide audit support by retrieving documents, generating year-end audit schedules, financial statements, and other requested documents for Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and Single Audit;
• Prepare quarterly drawdowns, monthly reconciliations, accounting statements and reports;
• Reconcile bank accounts; enter cash receipts and determines appropriate accounts to apply revenue;
• Serve as backup for payroll functions; prepare payroll taxes; troubleshoot payroll questions; prepare tax returns; performs tax research;
• Providesprofessional advice, customer support and consultation and provides staff training, as needed;
• Perform other duties as assigned to support agency goals and objectives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of agency policies and procedures;
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal and state funding regulations;
• Knowledge of Deltek (Costpoint) financial software, Concur, and Power BI;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines successfully;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively showing good judgment and making sound decisions;
• Ability to identify problems promptly and demonstrate attention to detail and instructions;
• Ability to take initiative to meet goals and expectations, and consistently strive to produce tangible results with significant visible impact;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or related field
• Two (2) years of professional accounting, financial management, grant administration, and/or procurement experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• Experience working in governmental accounting environment

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $53,828-$91,507(no SS deductions except for Medicare portion, approx. 1.45% of salary)
