ABOUT THE POSITION
The Finance Integration Manager for Astec will support the Company’s focus on its strategic growth initiatives. This role will develop a Global Finance M&A integration program and playbook and take ownership for leading local teams in the execution related to integration of acquired companies. This includes end-to-end strategic and transactional sides of the function including governance, workforce planning, policy, processes, methodology and technology deployment focused specifically on the Finance function but working closely with cross-functional integration team members to execute the holistic implementation.
This role requires management of the end-to-end integration process and activities for Finance teams from initial development of integration plans with milestones and timelines, to execution of the tactical plans, to providing a clear roadmap for ongoing ownership to complete the integration. This role will serve as a member of the Finance team, assisting with due diligence as well as integrating the acquired entities for all global entities to US GAAP based financial statements including SOX internal controls working collaboratively with Finance teams (Tax, Treasury, Accounting, FP&A, etc.) and outside of Finance (Corp Dev, Legal, HR, etc.). The Finance Integration Manager will lead regular finance integration meetings for Senior Finance leaders and Finance teams, including acquired entity finance leadership responsible for execution of the program to ensure effective communication and coordination.
This position will report to the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
· Develop, maintain and enhance Finance due diligence and integration playbooks for all global M&A activity ensuring scalability and ability to drive execution and build efficient repeatable processes to accelerate integrations
· Participate in due diligence activities in conjunction with Technical Accounting function to effectively understand the existing implications of the financial results and ongoing impacts to Astec as well as the synergy opportunities
· Support purchase accounting through maintenance of documentation and support for financial due diligence that serves as the baseline for the acquisition valuation
· Management of the end-to-end tactical integration process including timeline and milestone setting with strict adherence to the established deadlines
· Establish and ensure engagement of clear roadmap for ongoing ownership of roles and responsibilities for local Finance team
· Support system implementations at acquired companies to ensure compliance with global standard processes and reporting
· Support process and policy understanding by local Finance team of acquired companies to ensure accurate reporting of US GAAP results and the performance and documentation of SOX controls; establish local statutory to US GAAP reconciliation process as needed for global entities
· Provide periodic project updates to Astec Senior Leadership as well as other Finance partners
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent business experience; CPA preferred
· Minimum 5+ years business experience in accounting close cycles including order to cash, procure to pay, cost accounting, financial statement close including the related SOX internal controls
· Proven track record in M&A integration either within a publicly traded company or a top tier strategy or operations consulting firm, preferred
· Thought leadership in M&A integration and ability to influence and effectively challenge Stakeholders and Senior Business leaders to drive Integration agenda
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple acquisitions and projects simultaneously, executing against all individually as well as broader strategic initiatives
· Demonstrated ability to manage both globally and cross-functionally to drive effective integration planning, communications and change management
· Advanced project management skills (certifications a plus), the ability to track and manage complex processes and programs and a desire to lead teams and projects
· Strong analytical, strategic and innovative thinker with creative problem-solving skills
· A demonstrated track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and relationship building.
· Excellent communication and executive presence
· Must be extremely well organized
· Energy, pace and an impeccable track record of delivery
