Arete, an employee-owned company, is a growing research and development firm recognized for contributing to national security objectives by supplying innovative solutions to challenging technical problems faced by the United States.‚ Our Northridge CA office , has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst reporting to the Director of Finance. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position.‚

Summary:

Financial lead and business partner for a business unit.‚ Compiles and reviews budgets for a divisional business unit using actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration.‚ Prepares financial plans and regular and special-purpose reports, maintains historical records, analyzes trends, establishes cost rates and personnel forecasts, prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determines rationale for variances between costs and budget.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:

‚ ‚ Develops and implements complex budgets and financial plans.
‚ ‚ Develops reports to provide comprehensive data for analysis by senior management.‚
‚ ‚ Analyzes customer contracts to determine cost and profit data.
‚ ‚ Develops complex financial metrics to provide data for senior management.
‚ ‚ Reviews weekly timesheet charges; assures timely and accurate completion
‚ ‚ Additional duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS &
Experience:

‚ ‚ BA/BS degree and 7
years experience or MA/MBA and 5
years experience.
‚ ‚ US citizenship required.
‚ ‚ Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
‚ ‚ Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
‚ ‚ Expert proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint).
‚ ‚ Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS &
Experience:

‚ ‚ Prior experience in a Defense contracting organization with TM1, DELTEK CostPoint software knowledge.
‚ ‚ Familiarity with SBIR/STTR contracts.
‚ ‚ MBA, CMA are a plus.
