Position Description:
Are you a Product Manager looking to make a significant contribution to a growing product strategy team and own the destiny of your products? In this role, you will drive cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders and the leadership team to enhance existing products and create and launch new products. You will have unfettered access to our customers and teams with the mandate to foster, ideate, design, and launch disruptive products. Our goals are to help transform and reshape our industry. We are currently enhancing our core platform software to add app/feature on-ramps and flywheel options to capture both up and downstream partners in our existing customer’s supply chains. As the Product Manager/Owner, you will help set product strategy and help build and drive the roadmap to realize success for our customers. Make a difference. Engage. Apply today!
What you will own (responsibilities):
Apkudo is agile, and so our days and duties can vary. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the following duties: Develop and refine software products and solutions to enhance the reverse logistic process for our connected-device customers (e.g. T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Dell, etc.).
Advance unique solutions and move beyond the current state supply chain leveraging our platform and robotic automation to provide better decision-making abilities to our clients – think beyond “what is” to “what might be”
Ideate, define and promote product and process vision and strategy for connected device lifecycle from manufacturing, certification to retail to forward and reverse logistics including data (data is big!)
Drive core product messaging and positioning
Manage the product roadmap
Gather, document, negotiate and prioritize product and customer requirements
Launch, grow, and refine products
Become an expert with respect to competitive solutions
What you will bring (experience and qualifications):
We come together to deliver for each other and our customers, and we know there are many paths to performing well. That having been said, we rely on you to come up to speed fast and deliver great work without too much guidance, so we think it would be hard to do that without:
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business or another relevant field and/or a Masters is a plus. Relevant experience may substitute for degrees.
8+ years of overall progressive experience including 5+ years of progressive product management experience.
1+ years of product management experience with mobile/connected devices, similar consumer electronics, and/or SaaS products.
Demonstrated success bringing new mobile/tech/SaaS customer-facing products or services to market by driving product requirements through development team(s) using an iterative process
Willingness to think beyond conventional limitations and create disruptive solutions
Highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate across multiple organizational levels
Product experience with mobile/connected devices is highly desirable
If you think differently and know that you can do the job well, apply and show us!
What we expect from everyone:
What does it take to be successful with us? We expect ourselves and each other to:
Put people first by helping others be at their best-and making sure we are, too
Communicate clearly by speaking candidly, regularly, and respectfully to everyone
Own our work and the outcomes by taking personal ownership to deliver on the commitments we make to our colleagues and our customers
Trust and be trustworthy by acting with integrity and providing excellent work for each other and our clients
Value everyone’s voice because it’s all about the best ideas
What you can expect from us:
4 weeks of paid time off every year. Most of it doesn’t roll over because we know we won’t use it otherwise – and we know using it makes us better at our work and to each other.
Flexible working hours and schedules (some positions-like this one-will do some on-call weekend work on occasion, but we expect you to take time off during the week to make up for it)
Casual dress
A company-paid Google Pixel phone or a monthly credit to apply for your tech needs (including upgrading your bandwidth)
12 paid holidays, including Juneteenth and the day after Thanksgiving
A monthly wellness stipend that you can use for things like a meditation app, standing desk, gym equipment, etc.
401(k) matching up to 4%
Up to $5,250/year for certification, continuing education, and tuition reimbursement.
Insurance coverage we’re proud of for you, your family, and your spouse or domestic partner. We pay 100% of the cost of coverage for you for vision (through VSP), dental (through Guardian Dental), and some medical plans (through United Health Care, the largest health insurance company in the U.S.).
HSAs, FSAs (health care, dependent care), and commuter benefits to reduce what you have to pay for these parts of your life
The fine print:
This role will be based in Dallas and much of your work can and will be done remotely. However, you will also be asked to periodically visit our facility in Coppell, TX (DFW area), and/or various customer sites in the DFW area. You will therefore travel around Dallas to our site and our customer sites roughly 10-25% of your time. You may also periodically travel to either our Corporate HQ in Baltimore, MD, or to a customer site located in the United Sites another 0-5% of your time.
The physical requirements include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (though you can use the tech benefit to create whatever desk works best for you).
We are an agile organization, and so the duties and description of this role (like every other at Apkudo) may change at any time as we adapt.
This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
About Apkudo:
Apkudo is the developer of Hive, the platform for the management of the connected device supply chain. Through an applied combination of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and sophisticated automation, the Hive Platform manages the world of devices for all supply chain stakeholders by injecting intelligence and transparency throughout the entire device lifecycle: from design, development, testing, and certification to forward and reverse logistics.
