APCO Worldwide, a global strategic communication firm, is seeking a Business Manager to join us in a newly created role.
The Business Manager is an integrated role primarily responsible for day-to-day business efficiency and client financial management within the region, partnering with Client Leads, NA Regional Leadership, Resource Management, Legal and others in an effort to optimize overall client profitability, efficient project management and continued business growth. The right candidate will be Embedded within client teams, and will proactively implement company financial initiatives geared towards optimal efficiency.
¦ Provide financial and operational support to key stakeholders including Managing Directors and client service teams through:
¦ Coordinate reporting and forecasting of largest global clients (KCI cohort and beyond)
¦ Manage/Assist in the creation and preparation of annual budgets, project setup and monthly forecast with an emphasis on accuracy & timeliness
¦ Proactively document, follow up, and close out any revenue, budgeting, billing, invoicing, or payment risk or issues that pertain to Client(s) and or projects
¦ Develop and distribute regular internal communications regarding the financial health, and overall project efficiency of existing clients
¦ Work closely with NA Finance Director to ensure continued business and client efficiency
¦ Monitor and communicate actuals, time, expense and/or PO commitments to ensure consistency and accuracy against plan
¦ Review project activity to ensure project codes are opened/maintained/closed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the SOW in coordination with client service team and project analyst
¦ Act as Liaison between the client service teams and various departments on financial matters
¦ Serve as proactive, reliable and forward-thinking business analytics resource looking for ways to drive efficiency and impact
Qualifications & Standards
¦ Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
¦ 8+ years of relevant business experience with a concentration in financial analysis, client performance, project management and business operations
¦ Proven ability to communicate effectively and steer management as well as other stakeholders towards positive business outcomes
¦ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
