Amgen’s transfer pricing group is part of a world class tax department that provides global tax planning, transfer pricing, tax reporting, and tax audit defense for the Company. The transfer pricing group works closely with the tax reporting, tax planning, and tax audit groups, as well as the Finance, Accounting, and Treasury departments in Tampa and Amgen’s Thousand Oaks headquarters, to develop and implement the Company’s transfer pricing.
As a global biopharmaceutical company with over $20 billion in revenue, Amgen has a large international footprint and does business in over 75 countries. As a critical SOX-controlled process, Amgen’s transfer pricing function both supports the business and plays an important part of the Company’s tax compliance and provision processes. The Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing, will report to the Executive Director, Global Tax Planning and Controversy, and will be a key member of the team overseeing the Company’s worldwide transfer pricing function. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing periodic forecasts, monitoring affiliate profit levels and establishing transfer prices for intercompany transactions, as well as working with the the broader Tax Department, Treasury, Accounting and Finance departments to set and implement the Company’s transfer pricing policies. In addition, the Manager, Transfer Pricing will support various international and domestic tax planning initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years tax planning experience
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years tax planning experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years tax planning experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of tax planning experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of tax planning experience
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in transfer pricing with a Big Four Accounting firm, large law firm, and/or the tax department of an outbound, multinational corporation
Strong project management skills, including experience leading transfer pricing projects
Significant experience working with transfer pricing and tax issues common to outbound, multinational companies that own high-value intangibles and have complex supply chains
Understanding of accounting for income taxes
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent critical thinking skills
Strong interpersonal skills critical to a team-oriented organization
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
