American Operations Corporation Looking for Staff Accountant – Accounts Receivable at Norcross, GA Full Time

The Staff Accountant AR will be an integral part of the Finance team. He/she will obtain revenue and pay invoices by verifying and completing payable and receivable transactions, utilizing Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks and Sales Force systems.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Review government and commercial contracts
• Working in conjunction with contract administrators and project managers to ensure timely and accurate submission of government and commercial billings of various types (CPFF, T&M, FFP, etc.)
• Set up customer and billing formats for new projects
• Submitting invoices to customers through various on-line billing systems (email, WAWF, IPP, etc.)
• Invoice, post, and trace revenue
• Prepare weekly reports and ensure accuracy
• Communicate with project managers for invoice approval and backup
• Record and reconcile payments
• Maintain Accounts Receivable Aging report and manage collections
• Participating in month-end closing
• Tracking contract funding
• Analyze monthly unbilled receivables, researching, and resolving issues
• Reconciliation of Project data to billing data
• Communicating with internal and external customers to identify and resolve billing and payment discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with key control objectives and risk mitigation measures
• Support internal and external audits
• Process contract modifications and Sales Orders
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

College degree, or 5 + years’ experience in accounting.

• Basic Account Payable/Accounts Receivable work experience
• Familiarity with Costpoint and QuickBooks is a plus
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Ability to accurately complete all assigned tasks with little or no supervision
• Must be able to accurately research information and report research results
• Must be a US citizen
