Global Merchant Services is the merchant acquirer, processor, and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept the American Express Card. The Finance Manager serves as a critical member of the LFO team providing support for financial business analysis, consultative decision support and strategic analysis for the Global Merchant & Network Services business in the US. The role interfaces with the GMNS Finance leadership team, various General Managers, and various Finance HQ teams.
How will you make an impact in this role?
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the Merchant & Network Services business, as well as exposure to and insight from senior leadership. The Finance Manager should be a dynamic individual who can work closely with business partners, deliver superior analytics, and manage complex tasks in a global organization.
Providing value-add consultative and analytical support to various General Managers to evaluate financial performance, identify profit improvement opportunities, and develop metrics with key business partners to actively manage the profitability of the merchant portfolio
Provide support on business case development for merchant value propositions and spend volume expansion opportunities
Provide support on financial aspects of merchant deal negotiations, new business launches, and partner negotiations
Evaluate and revamp recurring processes and tools to drive efficiencies and sustainability
Develop and regularly present analytics to senior leaders and interface with business partners
Lead projects to provide insights into performance e.g. analyzing industry trends, merchant volumes/size trends, impact of macroeconomic indicators, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Solid financial and analytical skills; ability to work with large sets of data and draw meaningful conclusions, which empower our business partner to make smart, information-based decisions.
In depth understanding of P&L; including key revenue and expense drivers
Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management and tailor complex messages to the appropriate audience
Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree required, business-related advanced degree preferred
3 years of relevant Finance/Business work experience
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
