Discovery Shop Manager is responsible for facilitating and supervising daily operations at a resale store to ensure that employees and volunteers work together effectively to make sales and contribute to shop upkeep. The duties include communicating with donors, placing supply orders, scheduling employee /volunteer shifts and training new employees/volunteers. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, train, and assist employees and volunteers in customer service, store maintenance and product promotions.
Develop and maintain a schedule for employees, volunteers and promotions centered on holiday sales, campaigns and other promotions and cycles.
Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line and service within the store.
Maintain proper inventory levels, ensure adequate stocking, implement merchandise acquisition plans, and maintain contact with donors to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
Implement cross-training of volunteers and staff to always maintain productivity.
Manage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.
Ensure the store always remains clean and presentable on the selling floor and backroom.
Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide outstanding customer service.
Work to align employee/volunteer behaviors at their location with the overall goals of the organization.
Develop business plan to include events to promote and create interest to support shop goals.
Maintain shop social media pages to include shop and mission promotions.
Responsible for maintaining shop financial documentation, including banking, daily counts, audits, inventory controls, and ACS programs to support deposit paperwork.
Completes all action items as assigned by Regional Director.
Ensures accuracy and completion of annual inventory as well as completing all paperwork related to inventory in a timely manner.
Focus on own development and learning, complete all training as assigned for on-going development.
Utilize Sales Force for continued CRM management.
Responsible for the store payroll and ensure it does not exceed the monthly budget, accurately monitoring and acknowledging timesheets for all roles that clock in and out for all scheduled shifts, breaks and meals.
