Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) has revolutionized reading and the way authors of any level can engage the millions of readers that shop on Amazon. We execute our vision having “every book, ever written, in any language, available in 60 seconds or less” by working directly with authors, publishers, and content providers to provide new incentives, programs, tools, and services to help them easily create, publish, and sell their work worldwide.
The KDP team is seeking a Marketing Manager to create high-value marketing and merchandising campaigns in support of core authors-facing product set(s) as well as helping execute key marketing programs for indie readers.
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for creating best-in-class marketing campaigns, helping to drive sales, engagement, and growth for KDP content across multiple marketing channels. They will execute and optimize all elements of their marketing campaigns (product, copy, targeting, creative templates, timing, etc.) and will leverage performance data and testing to develop recommendations and best practices. They will own the execution of key initiatives for self-published authors and readers such as price promotions. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager who is customer obsessed, data-driven, detail-oriented, and excited to work in a fast-paced environment.
A successful candidate must be able to work at the strategic level (using author and reader behavior to generate ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (optimizing campaigns, executing promotions, and solving problems). This candidate will have a strong understanding of the marketing funnel and possess project management skills and influencing skills to work across multiple teams to achieve success.
Key job responsibilities
Core responsibilities of the Marketing Manager include:
• Quickly onboard to utilize Amazon marketing tools and services to build and execute campaigns across multiple channels
• Track progress to marketing metrics, goals, and KPIs to measure success of marketing campaigns and programs
• Own the selection process for key marketing programs such as deals and Prime Reading
• Actively investigate and suggest new ways to improve engagement on all platforms, including emerging social media outlets
• Manage and report out on projects, status, and work with teams to remove any project blockers
