Job summary
This finance role has breath and depth, allocating substantial fulfillment center variable costs, which includes labor costs, to the business on a global scale. Our business partners are Product Category finance teams; Hardlines, Softlines, Media, Consumable, Device, Zappos, FBA, and many more. We make sure the costs we allocate to them are accurate so that they have a quality P&L. We bring expense visibility to our business partners and work very closely with them to deep dive into cost anomalies. With insight into costs, we help our business partners to make the right decisions. Accurate and timely MEC (month-end-closing) and Planning of costs, good project management, dependable interaction with stakeholders, and insightful data analytics are keys to success in this role.
We are part of the GCF (Global Customer Fulfillment) Analytics team. We are responsible for allocating fulfillment center variable and fixed costs to Retail and FBA businesses. Our team predicts variable rates for Contribution Profit (CP) system and supports Fulfill to Promise (F2P) system. We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team to manage Global Allocation Method (GAM), our variable cost allocation engine. We are seeking individuals with strong finance skills, strong analytical skills, sound technical skills, sound business judgment, and effective communication. Key job responsibilities
A day in the life
Month end closing is 2 days in the month and does not require full day of works. MEC is automated but there are auditing works to make sure allocation is accurate. Bridging after MEC and communicating with business partners is about 2 days. Most of the time in the month will be spent on data analytics, helping business partners on cost analytics, enhancing allocation engine, and improving and automating processes.

In many instants, we invite each other to meetings outside their responsibilities so they can learn and help brainstorm solutions. One-on-one is done on a weekly basis with the team manager.
