This role will have a heavy impact and high visibility to essential, business-critical processes leading implementation of new projects and business launches. Team Exposure:
The Finance Manager will partner with internal and external stakeholders such as the Product teams, Transportation business team, FP&A, Supply Chain, global Marketplace and Planning teams. You will serve as a key strategic partner to senior business leadership, will provide guidance on critical decisions and own core financial responsibilities of controllership, budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc analysis of financial results. This role designs, develops, and maintains performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.
Success in this role: This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong Supply Chain & logistics analysis abilities, problem solving skills, complex project management skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. This role provides value to our business partners by being a thought leader that can perform a wide range of duties. Candidates should be able to understand the business partners desired strategy, help them to refine objectives, develop hypothesis and perform analysis to deliver insights. The best candidate has a desire to continually find areas of improvement that can be translated into measurable and meaningful impacts to our company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon. These decisions can have global impact.
2. Delivers weekly/monthly financial close. Uses financial systems and advanced MSExcel functions to work with large data sets. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
3. Creates effective business partnerships, manages competing priorities, and provides guidance based on data analysis during unexpected events
4. Uses active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjusts style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly.
5. Collects and analyzes quantitative data to develop relevant reports that drive cost reductions.
6. Participates in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members. Seeks and leverages diverse perspectives in all activities.
7. Identifies opportunities to resolve defects proactively. Improves, scales, or simplifies finance tools across teams and organizations.
8. Contributes to work life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members as an indicator of operations excellence.
