The Opportunity

The CFO Group Business Line IT Risk Manager is critical to Ally management’s annual assessment of internal controls over financial reporting, specifically as it relates to the evaluation of IT general computer controls (ITGC) as required to demonstrate compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards and to support other financial control processes within the Financial Controls function. The Manager will lead our IT testing program and will work collaboratively with our broader CFO Group Business Line Risk team and other key stakeholders, including external audit, in order to facilitate management’s assessment of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting. The role is ideal for a candidate with public accounting and/or audit experience and who is actively seeking professional growth and experience with a large and dynamic organization. The position will offer a variety of interactions with various levels of management and other key partners within the organization.

The Work Itself

• Lead the execution of the IT SOX program including planning and scoping as well as the review and evaluation of key IT controls
• Support the development of team members and help the team balance and prioritize projects and initiatives
• Work collaboratively with business partners and stakeholders such as the broader financial controls team, internal and external audit, and the IT organization
• Provide insight into potential process improvements and support qualitative improvements in the control environment to increase efficiency and effectiveness and reduce the potential for control deficiencies
• Evaluate changes in the IT organization and partner with stakeholders to understand potential impacts to the control environment and the business
• Present findings and other observations to members of management and key partners
• Monitor identified deficiencies and associated remediation efforts to ensure timely closure of findings

The Skills You Bring

• 5+ years of financial services/relevant audit experience (Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, accounting information systems, management information systems, or related field of study required
• CPA or CISA Certification or equivalent is required
• Experience auditing Cloud environments is a plus
• Experience auditing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or other automated tools is a plus
• Knowledge of and experience with audit industry documentation standards (e.g., preparation of workpapers, walkthroughs, control testing)
• Experience in the review and evaluation of controls relevant to financial applications and their respective infrastructure (database, operating system, etc)Experience in reviewing the work of others
• Strong critical thinking skills and experience auditing risks in a dynamic organization. Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills (detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed, organized, etc.) with consistent track record of increasing responsibilities within the organization.
• Demonstrated effective project management skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to multi-task and work well in a changing environment.
• Demonstrated skill in successfully managing audit teams with an emphasis on staff development.
• Proven ability to excel in highly interactive team environment
• Ability to develop and maintain strong management relationships
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
