Job Summary:
Avail’s Trust & Safety team works hard so that our customers can rest easy. Trust and Safety is
paramount to the Avail platform experience, and our job is to keep cars on our platform safe and build
trust with our customers and fellow Availers. The Risk Manager is part of Avail’s Risk & Insurance
department. This role is part of the team that is accountable for addressing and managing systematic
issues, as well as front line incidents reported to Avail’s Trust & Safety team. The Risk Manager works
closely with Trust & Safety leadership, the Customer Operations team, and our Field Operations team to
ensure the best user experience when unanticipated issues occur. The Risk Manager will help build and
manage programs aimed at reducing Avail’s risk exposure and to mitigate loss and fraud, while
improving employee safety across Avail’s growing line of business.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive safety, security and risk management programs to success in a dynamic, ever-evolving line of business where speed, accuracy and customer obsession are paramount.
Manage Trust & Safety team’s overall risk exposure with direct responsibility for developing, tracking and improving key metrics which evaluate the value of ongoing projects and initiatives.
Manage multiple open and simultaneous programs/projects. Provide detailed status reports as well as 30-60-90 day retroactive reports on implemented initiatives.
Establish and foster strategic partnerships with cross-organizational business areas including Avail Customer Operations, Risk & Insurance, Legal, Allstate Physical Security, Emergency Response Team(s), and Avail Field Operations to improve coordination in planning, response, and recovery capabilities.
Develop and implement internal policy and process standards that raise the overall Trust and Safety experience across multiple different lines of business and geographic areas. Build and subsequently monitor Trust & Safety workflows.
Conduct thorough post-incident investigations utilizing data and deep dive analysis in the spirit of continuous improvement, to find and solve the root cause of problems in the Trust and Safety space. Be ready and able to serve Avail as an “on-call” for disruption and/or emergency management in support of the field operations, which will include nights and weekends. Proactively review, identify areas of opportunity and provide data-driven recommendations to reduce loss and fraud across the platform experience.
Be a thought leader for Trust and Safety by staying informed about industry trends and geopolitical events.
Build and maintain relationships with external vendors ensuring the highest possible level of collaboration and fulfillment of mutually agreed contracts
Desired Experience/Skill Set
3-5 years Trust and Safety, risk management, business continuity or related experience in loss prevention, special operations/ investigations or security project management.
Experience with the planning and execution of team goals while operations intensively scale in a growth focused organization.
Experience using data and analytics to self-direct efforts towards the areas of greatest need in reducing loss, waste, risk, and/or theft.
Experience in partnering with Tech Product Managers and Engineers to develop and deploy tech centric, durable and scalable solutions to trust and safety challenges.
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple simultaneous programs and projects, while relentlessly prioritizing your time to align with evolving business demands.
Experience or exposure to managing sensitive incident details and maintaining the highest degree of discretion with customer and/or employee information.
Highly collaborative with proven ability to build rapport and credibility quickly with all levels of the company and to work effectively across matrixed organizations.
Ability to make sound decisions independently and under pressure. Demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
5 or more years of related experience
Functional Skills
Salesforce experience a plus
Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations based on analysis
Ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, cross regional, diverse, and dynamic work environment
Highly organized and structured.
Excellent verbal and written communication
Proficient project management and oversight capabilities.
Compensation offered for this role is $80,500.00-$134,800.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
