As a technical expert with insurance taxation and industry-specific knowledge you’ll ensure the accuracy of tax deliverables and provide tax advice and analysis to key stakeholders. You’ll apply your specialized knowledge and ability to effectively communicate complex topics to guide the corporate tax function in support of the SquareTrade business.
This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses. Key Responsibilities:
Guide the corporate tax function by providing technical review and high-level analysis of tax returns and provisions.
Review quarterly and annual income tax provisions and provide technical oversight ensuring accuracy among GAAP, STAT, and TAX books.
Implements and maintains procedures and controls to meet or exceed requirements under Sarbanes Oxley section 404.
Consider and drive process improvements to provision and compliance processes and procedures to allow for increased efficiency among team members.
Perform necessary due diligence to ensure tax strategies are implemented in a manner that provides for minimal risk to the Company.
Provide technical advice to leadership to minimize tax exposure related to proposed transactions.
Prepare written analysis including formal memoranda, presentations, and other forms of written supporting documentation for senior leadership review and consideration.
Lead projects for tax savings initiatives.
Manage and support the technical analysis of tax audits and ensure that high-quality research and analysis are completed with a goal of minimizing exposure while maintaining a focus on reducing tax expense. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does have supervisory duties. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other closely related area
7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in handling complex, broad based Federal and state, international tax compliance, tax provision and supporting tax analysis.
Strong analytical skills and experience in analyzing complex transactions.
Solid project management, time management, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Previous supervisory experience required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPA designation is a plus
Compensation offered for this role is $150,000 -$170,000 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
