The Member Engagement, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team at the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) is seeking a Member Engagement Senior Specialist reporting to the Assistant Director of Member Engagement.

What this job is about:

The Member Engagement Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting and coordinating member engagement efforts for AAIM, as well as supporting member volunteer relations and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. This includes member engagement programs and initiatives; assisting with member retention; and membership databases; supporting member volunteer relations; supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion programming; customer service; membership marketing, and member benefit development. This position provides logistical and administrative support for the team.

Responsibilities:

• Supports existing member engagement programs and initiatives, including ambassador program, awards, mentoring, member center, and direct management of AAIM Higher! and member volunteer recognition.
• Assists with member engagement metrics, including tracking and evaluating programs and initiatives.
• Regularly generates and reviews member engagement program reports, including monthly mentoring and ambassador program reports, to maximize engagement opportunities.
• Coordinates in collaboration with the assistant director pre-meeting preparation and onsite logistics for the member center at annual meeting.
• Research member engagement program trends in associations and proposes enhancements to AAIM programs based on findings.
• Collaborates with marketing team to support the goals, strategies, and campaigns for communications, related to member engagement programs, membership, and the promotion of organization-wide member benefits to members.
• Provides customer service by receiving and responding to requests from members for information and assistance via email and phone.
• Supports membership operations, including data integrity maintenance.
• Provides administrative support for team’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
• Contributes to the development and sound fiscal management of the department budget; monitors and reports on the budgetary impact of the day-to-day operations on the department; prepares budget reports; ensures that invoices are coded accurately; and makes recommendations to department management to ensure that department funds for equipment, resources, travel, programs, committees, revenue, and expenses are used responsibly and effectively.
• Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget; develops detailed project timelines and tasks; and identifies skills and financial resources required to complete tasks.
• Supervises a staff or function; guides and monitors performance of staff and contractors.
• Includes significant representative contact with committees and members through email, telephone, and onsite meetings for purposes of administration.
• Participates in screening and selecting candidates for hire. Contributes to the development and delivery of training new hires in their roles and responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Job location:

AAIM offers a hybrid work arrangement of three days per week working remotely and two days per week working in the office. Employees are required to work in the office every Tuesday and Wednesday. New employees are immediately eligible for this hybrid work arrangement.

Requirements:

• Bachelors + 4 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Will consider recent college graduates.
• Solid skills in communicating verbally and in writing, providing original content and using accurate grammar, tact, and diplomacy.
• Solid problem solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Solid skills working with limited supervision and managing multiple priorities.
• Solid skills working independently and collaboratively as a team member and exhibiting sensitivity and professionalism when dealing with a wide array of internal and external customers.
• Ability to apply policies and guidelines, and lead by example by following them.
• Solid skills working with committee leaders and coordinating materials for agendas, calls, and meetings.
• Ability to travel the equivalent of two weeks per year to staff meetings and conferences.
• Ability to traverse large venues to provide onsite logistical support, and to lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds.
• Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
