General Manager
Overview
We are a successful privately owned business, selling, servicing, and installing heavy-duty shop equipment/Vehicle Lift systems. We are seeking an experienced General Manager for our Fairfax, Virginia office. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effective to meet our business goals. You will be the face of the company, working closely with the Owner. As the Director of Operations, you must be aligned with our culture and continue to enhance it through positive leadership.
Responsibilities
· Plan, develop, implement, and direct the organizations operational and fiscal function and performance. Reporting to the owner.
· Create, improve, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the company that will improve operational and financial effectiveness of the company.
· Achieve financial and operational goals as established by the owner.
· Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with the short term and long-term company goals.
· Develop deep business relationships with customer base and insure high level of customer satisfaction.
· Lead and motivate team members to advance employee engagement in the business.
· Establish and monitor the performance goals of the company through verification and analysis of financial reports, ensure that all goals are being met, and report results to Owner.
· Make business decisions based on facts, experience and what is best for the company.
· Maintain a deep knowledge of the automotive/heavy duty shop equipment industry and market to determine best growth areas for the company.
· Manage performance of busy Service Department.
· Manage and lead Sales Staff.
· Maintain and establish positive relationship with customers and staff.
· Review and approve all bid packages prior to being submitted to the customer.
· Continue business growth by increasing sales and controlling operating cost.
· Expand existing product lines that match company goals and skill sets.
· Develop and implement strategic plans that meet business goals and objectives as defined by the owner.
· Recruit and develop management team of leaders to manage critical business functions.
· Success to be determined by achievement, or exceeding financial goals, and growth of the company.
· Manage compliance to all government and safety regulations.
· Update Owner on regular bases
Position Requirements
· MBA degree with technical or engineering background
· Prior experience in managing P&L, and staff of direct reports
· Proven results as a senior manager in operation of a business, sales, and motivating staff.
· Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
· An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organization and leadership skills.
· Ability to think on your feet.
· Outstanding problem-solving skills.
· Proven results in driving sales and operation of a sales department.
· Background in transportation industry is a plus.

Pay: $150,000.00 – $175,000.00 per year
