About the role
On the National Accounts Excess Casualty team, you will be working with some of the strongest technical experts in the industry on Fortune 500 and larger accounts. Our Excess Casualty Underwriters are high level individual contributors handling both lead umbrella and excess accounts. The team underwrites a diverse mix of business and industry classes including Manufacturing, Technology, Retail, Hospitality and many others. They are focused on driving results with a key focuses on underwriting discipline, providing excellent service and a consistent approach to meet the needs of our brokers and clients. We seek to outperform our competitors with a focus on understanding client’s priorities and developing creative risk solutions to meet their long-term needs.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Advanced working knowledge of the NA Casualty lines of business including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks etc. (i.e., Environmental, Excess or Primary Casualty, NA Auto, WC, AL, GL, DBA, Foreign Casualty)
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and results oriented.
- Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.
- Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.
- Expert with underwriting analytical tools and technology.
For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $90,000-$127,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits, a summary of which can be viewed here:
