Advex Corporation Looking for Heavy Fabrication Manager at Hampton, VA Full Time

Established company is seeking a motivated individual who can lead and continue to grow a heavy fabrication division. This position requires an experienced manager with a background in heavy steel and alloy fabrication to include various welding processes and standards. Individual must possess a strong knowledge of various fabrication standards with emphasis on critical dimensional tolerance weldments requiring post fabrication machining. The division manager will be expected to use base knowledge in developing safe, cost-efficient approach for each job with cost and schedule commitments taken into consideration. Division manager will be expected to grow this division through hiring the appropriate direct labor personnel and evaluate the performance of the personnel in that division. Candidate shall be able to maintain project budgets and schedule work to satisfy critical delivery requirements. This position will require the ability to evaluate shop backlog for current and projected labor and material costs at each step of process flow to determine/project final cost and achievable schedule commitments. Individual must possess the ability to organize and schedule labor staff to correctly manage safety performance, 1st time quality, on time delivery within cost commitments. Individual responsible for Blast and Coat performance, will lead one Planner and two Leads along with 25-30 other resources consisting of helpers, fitter/formers, fitters, sandblasters, coaters and welders. A welding supervisor assists all of our fabrication and machining departments. Capable of breaking projects down to daily resource assignments (JAGS), with Planner support, used as clear accountable direction. Candidate must have experience with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Project.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.00 – $43.00 per hour
