Manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Accountant who would also have Cost Accounting duties. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking a long-term position in a management role.
Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (40 hours/week) Flex time available
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate the month-end closing procedure and maintain the general ledger in a manufacturing and departmental environment.
Prepare consolidated financial statements for the company and two affiliated entities, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Prepare Federal and State tax returns for these entities.
Maintain the fixed assets’ software package and related depreciation for both book and tax purposes.
Perform the monthly accounting of marketable securities transactions and reconcile with the IRS at year end.
Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and any related analysis.
Manage and support the accounting staff and provide them with accounting advice.
Examine the manufacturing standard costs against actual costs in order to analyze the manufacturing overhead pool for proper absorption rates for inventory valuation.
Knowledge of corporate taxes a plus.
Other duties may be assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting along with 5+ years’ experience in senior level accounting. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
