Position Summary
This position will be responsible for all cash accounting including bank account reconciliations, financial reporting according to GAAP standards, deferred revenue and prepaid insurance reconciliations, journal entries, and the general ledger close process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of state and county funding, private contributions and grants.
Assist with writing and updating accounting policies and procedures as needed or requested by the CEO or CFO.
Prepare monthly financial statements.
Complete reconciliation of all agency bank accounts and investment accounts.
Prepare and enter all journal entries into the general ledger software.
Assist with providing financial data for completion of the Agency’s and Foundation’s 990 forms.
Assist with preparation of Form 5500.
Track all deferred revenues and prepaid expenses, ensuring that they are charged to the appropriate months.
Assist with the annual financial audit.
Assist with cost report and grant reports, including tracking allowable grant hours for SAMHSA grants.
Assist with preparation of the annual agency budget.
Assist with grant budgets as needed.
Cross-train with the Financial Reporting Analyst and provide backup to other members of the finance department as needed
This position will have similar duties where applicable for the FSGC Foundation.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field.
Experience:
Two years of accounting experience.
Working knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting preferred.
Strong understanding of budgeting processes preferred.
