Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent in education and experience
Knowledge of accounting systems and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Excel experience with a deep understanding of technology and the use of technology to complete job responsibilities. Attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum three years of professional accounting experience. General ledger, fund accounting, and higher education experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional ethical standards.

Previous supervisor experience
Summary of Duties:
This position within the accounting department holds a unique distinction as it serves both COTC and Ohio State Newark. At COTC, with its technical college mission, the landscape is dynamic, with technology and accounting standards evolving regularly. The individual in this role will be a key player in the implementation of new processes and procedures as necessitated by these changes. On the Ohio State Newark front, there’s an invigorating sense of involvement in a regional campus affiliated with a prestigious land-grant research university. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of financial management reports, monthly closing, and account reconciliations for Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College Boards of Trustees, Ohio Department of Higher Education and other federal, state and local sources; prepares, analyzes, reviews, and reconciles financial data; prepares monthly cost share billing between OSU-N and COTC; maintains chart of accounts; works closely with the accounting manager to prepare for the year end audit including preparation of audit schedules, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Work Hours: This is an on-campus position.Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:30pmOccasional evening/weekend hours when needed
