Artemis Real Estate Partners is a best-in-class real estate investment management firm headquartered in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, with satellite offices New York City, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. We have an Analyst position available within our Acquisitions and Asset Management group. The position involves supporting the firm’s acquisitions, asset management, and capital raising efforts. In this capacity, the individual will work with senior management to source, underwrite, and manage real estate investments.
The Program
The Analyst Development Program (“ADP”) is a two-year development and apprenticeship program where individuals from a diversity of backgrounds and educations can build the professional and analytical skills that are foundational to a career in real estate and finance. The two-year program is an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of a high performing real estate private equity firm with the responsibilities and functions of a junior investment professional.
The ADP training begins in July 2024 in Washington, DC with three weeks of foundational classroom training focused on technical skills, professional development, and networking within the firm. Throughout the two year program, you will be exposed to all facets of real estate private equity and have exposure to senior leadership of the firm.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the firm’s investment strategies.
- Execute the due diligence/underwriting process on potential new investments.
- Prepare Investment Committee memorandums describing potential new investments and participate in presentations to the Investment Committee.
- Develop and maintain financial models across all asset classes (multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hotel, medical office, self-storage, senior housing, etc.) and various placements in the capital stack (equity, preferred equity, mezzanine debt, and senior loans).
- Prepare financial analyses of various investment decisions, such as leasing, financing, and buy/sell decisions.
- Prepare and effectively analyze market data/research.
- Support the execution of business plans for new investments.
- Review property reports and track operating performance relative to pro forma, forecasts, asset strategies, and investment targets, prepare summaries and present results.
- Review financials for factual accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with capital raising presentations and other investor relations requests.
- Perform all other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from top tier educational institution
- Coursework in finance, accounting, real estate, or another related field preferred but not required.
- Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent stakeholder/client relationship management experience required interpersonal skills required.
- Candidates with an understanding of finance concepts such as internal rate of return, cap rates, NOI, present value/discounted cash flow, and capital markets strongly preferred.
- Prior internship experience in real estate, investment banking, or related field strongly preferred but not required.
- Financial modeling sufficiency required; understanding of financial analysis, modeling, and valuation, and the ability to use financial and valuation software including Excel and Argus preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients, partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Excellent critical thinking, judgment, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, and ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks under deadline.
- Ability to perform market research, which will entail frequent travel.
