We are looking for an Accounting Manager to have overall responsibility for the organization’s grant portfolio including maintaining financial records and providing the support services needed by the organization and its funding sources. This role requires collaboration with all TruFund departments and programs, to ensure accurate recording, tracking, and reporting of all awarded grant dollars. This includes, but is not limited to, initial grant budget development, budget onboarding, budget revisions and modifications, as well as managing grant contract timelines and compliance documentation. The position must work to improve the reporting (both internal and external), develop reporting relationships with TruFund senior personnel, recommend and implement ways to enhance timely and accurate reporting and management of grant resources. In addition, this position will be responsible for aspects of the corporate budget, and analysis of TruFund’s financial operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the accounting and financial reporting of the government and private grants portfolio.
Develop a detailed knowledge of each grant in the Trufan’s grant portfolio.
Onboard new grants – ensure that the information received is complete, including the amount of the grant, grant period, purpose of the grant, and the supporting grant budget (where applicable).
Develop budgets for all grants to ensure that funds are being used in accordance with the grant agreement.
Ensure that all grants are properly set up and coded in the general ledger.
Perform monthly analysis of general ledger and process adjustments as needed.
Monitor spending to ensure that funds are being spent and allocated to the line items provided in the grant budget.
Prepare and submit periodic invoices and expenditure/reimbursement reports.
Prepare monthly report for presentation and discussion with TruFund’s senior staff.
Ensure that reporting to funders, supporters, and other stakeholders is timely, accurate and transparent.
Develop analysis methodology that will inform management of the amount, duration funding sources of the grant portfolio, and the risks and opportunities embedded in the grant portfolio.
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining reconciliation spreadsheets for individual awards.
Create and maintain an electronic filing system for all grant agreements.
Prepare documents and communicate with the auditors for the annual Uniform Guidance Single Audit (A133).
Respond to auditors’ requests for grant information and assist with the annual financial statement audit.
Work on other duties as assigned for the smooth functioning of the fiscal department.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Knowledge of all aspects of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience working with grants analysis and reporting to senior staff and funders.
Experience working on Uniformed Guidance Single Audit (formerly A-133).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VLookup and Pivot Tables).
Knowledge of NetSuite or similar general ledger software system experience required.
The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship building qualities
Education and Experience:
BS/BA in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university required.
5+ years in in senior accounting and/or financial analysis role, with strong understanding of non-profit accounting, including, but not limited to, budget preparation and monitoring, financial reporting and analysis, government contracts, the annual audit process, and experience interacting with senior leadership.
Knowledge of NetSuite a plus.

Must be highly ethical with a high level of integrity; self-motivated; dependable and reliable; detailed oriented; able to interface easily with staff, other senior management personnel and funding sources.
