OCTA is the county’s transportation planning commission and public transit operator. Overview : Under general direction, assists in driving the development, administration, research, analysis, and reporting of various marketing programs.
Supports continuous improvement of OCTA’s innovative, multi-channel marketing and outreach programs at all stages : by pre-campaign research of opportunities, audiences and market segmentation, establishment of campaign objectives and goals, supporting campaigns during implementation with both regular and real-time reporting, and assisting in developing post-campaign analysis of results, effectiveness and return on investment.
This is a non-exempt position in Salary Grade M : Min $30.35 Mid $36.48 Max $42.60 per hour. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

Conducts market and customer research, data analysis, and reporting for marketing and outreach projects in support of OCTA’s transportation programs and services.
Assists in the development of survey instruments. Under general direction, prepares analytics reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data from various sources including website analytics, customer data reports, and OCTA-specific data sources for pass sales and ridership.
Conducts research identifying market trends and supports targeted marketing content creation. Presents findings, results and recommendations to customers, management, and executive leadership.
Ensures accuracy and integrity of findings and reports by confirming data source accuracy using sampling, exception reporting, comparison to historical trends, and discussion with key staff.
Takes Initiative : Initiates new programs, processes, relationships, or technologies to accomplish goals. Works as part of a team to evaluate / suggest either new or existing data sources, software, technologies, and techniques to continue to improve the insights, accuracy, or development speed of program reporting.
Drives for Results : Operates with speed and intensity, translates long-term goals into immediate actions. Participates in ongoing optimization of marketing program performance including development of market analysis and insights and identification of opportunities for growth.
Prepares, reviews, and maintains a variety of records, reports, and dashboards to track ongoing performance for programs and services.
Analyzes data to identify statistical and trend information and makes recommendations to management to help optimize marketing programs.
Solves Problems & Analyzes Issues : Has and applies problem analysis and problem-solving skills on a technical and interpersonal level.
Solves problems, addresses analytical issues, and examines large data sets. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Data Science, Statistics or related areas and a minimum of three years of experience in data analytics and marketing.
Two or more years of data analytics / quantitative field work experience is preferred. Experience with public transportation or marketing analytics is highly valued.
