Director of Finance

Full Time: Mon- Fri 8a-4p
Non-Exempt: $85,000-$90,000

Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role
The Director of Finance is responsible for supervision of Finance team staff members and lead all day-to-day finance operations including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants administration and cost reporting.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, MBA preferred. CPA required. Seven to ten years’ of accounting and finance experience strongly preferred. Experience would ideally begin in accounting and auditing, followed by gathering, evaluation, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders. Supervisory experience in complex nonprofit with multiple programs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The Director of Finance operates with limited supervision. The position requires independent judgment and the ability to question/research anything which appears to be inconsistent/inappropriate. Work must be performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and Agency policies. Contact with the public is moderate. Position has access to confidential information which must be respected. Decisions made may have a significant financial impact on the Agency.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and transportation necessary to meet departmental needs. Must participate in successful database checks through the HHS Office of Inspector General, Excluded Parties List System, New York Office of Medicaid Inspector General and Specially Designated Nationals.
