*Position: Director of Finance* Reports to: Executive Director NWGA RESA Work Schedule: 230 days per year FLSA: Exempt Location: NWGA RESA (3167 Cedartown Highway Southeast, Rome, GA, 30161) Salary Schedule: Commensurate with experience POSITION OVERVIEW: Northwest Georgia RESA seeks to fill the position of Director of Finance. This position is responsible for managing day to day financial operations and accounting for all funds of Northwest Georgia Regional Education Service Agency. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * * B.S. in Business Administration or School Fiscal Officer’s Certification * Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in financial accounting, * Experience with governmental accounting preferred * Strong management and organizational skills * Ability to maintain professional relationships with others * Excellent technology, written, and oral communications skills * Demonstrated high level skills in leadership, interpersonal skills, public relations, planning, organization, presentation, and implementation of activities with minimal supervision *Working Conditions* * Office Environment * Constant Interruptions *Physical Demands* * Dexterity of hands, fingers to operate computer keyboard * Hearing and speaking to exchange information * Seeing to read a variety of materials * Sitting for extended periods of time * Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching * Ability to lift 25 lbs. *Essential Functions* * Accounts for all funds of Northwest Georgia RESA in compliance with the State Department of Education and other legal GAAP standards * Assists in the preparation and execution of RESA Annual Budget * Serves as coordinator for RESA annual audits * Prepares monthly financial reports to present to the Northwest Georgia RESA Board of Controls * Establish accounting procedures to ensure that proper internal controls are maintained for the district business office * Coordinate accounting procedures to ensure that RESA staff follow proper procedures in the budgeting, record keeping, and expending of program funds for which they are responsible. * Prepare and submit year end and interim financial reports to the Georgia Department of Education. * Request federal and state grant reimbursements. * Manages accounting software systems * Reconcile monthly bank statements * Prepare bank deposit * Processes all receivable and payables * Reconciles all funds for year-end * Collaborates with and supports Northwest Georgia RESA staff * Attend conferences and training programs, as approved by supervisor * Demonstrate a working knowledge, understanding, and implementation of the RESA Standards for Service * Complete other duties as assigned by NWGA RESA Executive Director *BEGINNING DATE: January 2, 2023* *APPLICATION DEADLINE: *_*Until Filled*_ *TO APPLY: * Submit a completed application on TeachGeorgia.org
