About this role:
Develops, manages, and implements operational procedures and policies for the business office and support services functions of the facility. This includes establishing and maintaining accounting procedures, fiscal reporting methods, payment of expenditures and other related activities. Additional support services functions include: payroll, human resources, purchasing, communications, food services, warehouse, commissary, inventory property control, and laundry.
This position also supervises and provides ongoing direction to the other members of the business office at the facility. In addition, this position is responsible for coordination of contract reporting and monitoring of compliance with contract terms. The Business Manager has lead responsibility of facilitating collaboration with Corporate and internal senior management groups to ensure the financial performance and budget priorities of the facility.
What you bring to the table:
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university
Experience
Five years of experience in a responsible financial position involving budget preparation, financial reporting, analysis, control in medical and/or mental healthcare administration, with 2 years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and good verbal and written communication skills required.

What you will do:
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, coordinates, communicates, and oversees the delivery of business-related functions daily by applying program and corporate business management policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
Prepares and monitors annual budget in conjunction with Corporate and advises management of budget status.
Directs the maintenance of recording and control procedures involving the collection, evaluation, processing, preparation, submission and reconciliation of accounts.
Participates in overall facility planning activities.
Coordinates the monthly financial closing activities including preparation of necessary journal entries. Provides income and expense variance analysis and completes all required month end financial reports.
Reviews and approves all financial and accounting records, payroll registers, transactions, and functions of the facility.
Evaluates financial and statistical data and program needs to identify problem areas of operations and makes recommendations for improvements. Evaluates and recommends methods of improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness
Provides for receiving, storing, and accountability of supplies, services, and equipment.
Maintains required documentation for accreditation and provides support during accreditation inspections and/or reviews.
Coordinates with facility management for the identification of capital expenditure needs and coordinates approval and execution of capital expenditures requests with Corporate leadership.
Maintains census figures, meals served, man-day figures and other pertinent data.
Maintains communication and a good working relationship with Hospital Administrator and other facility executive management, Wellpath employees, contracted providers, outside agencies, and State central office staff, as applicable. Functions as a liaison between the facility and corporate headquarters.
Demonstrates knowledge in The Joint Commission standards as they effect the business office area/function.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
