Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete Accounting functions for any OM Farms accounting divisions / departments:
Perform Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Accounting Close
Monthly Reconciliation of GL Accounts and Inventory
Record Monthly Accruals
Calculate and record monthly receivables
Calculate/ amortize and record the month-end GL entry to relieve crop investments / cost of inputs
Update monthly revenue and expense summary reports
Calculate and record the monthly revenue adjustment for estimated seasonal pooling
Record final growing cost payments or receipts on crop investments at the end of each season
Generate monthly P & L by commodity
Ensure that all grower payments and other expenses are made and accounted for correctly
Ensure that all account supporting schedule tie to the GL
Ensure intercompany accounts with Ocean Mist Farms are in balance at month-end
Daily Banking and Reconcile Bank Accounts Monthly
Record cash receipts
Invoicing as needed
Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as required
Back up to Controller as needed
Other duties as required
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
BAor BS in Accounting or equivalent experience
A minimum of 1-13 years of experience in accounting/finance
Agricultural experience preferred
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Ability to work with and manage a high level of detailed and confidential information
Advanced computer skills required (Excel, Word, Business Intelligence Software). Famous experience desired
Ability to research, retrieve and organize data to prepare reports and financial documentation
Accurately perform complex mathematical computations
Organize and maintain accounting records
Set priorities and organize work to meet strict deadlines
Coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously
Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Work independently and as a team member
Adapt to changing program needs
Train, plan and coordinate work of others
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients
Interpret and explain complex rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Make decisions on a variety of complex matters in accordance with established procedures
Possess strong analytical skills
Office equipment to be used (not inclusive list): 10-key calculator by touch, telephone, computers, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment
Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision
