Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Finance in the Department of Medicine, with focused support to one of the Department’s largest divisions, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the development and management of standardized and ad hoc financial reporting & analysis, to assist in the facilitation of divisional and departmental financial planning and management. The incumbent must be a self-starter with ability to work through complex issues, elevating as appropriate to Divisional Leaders and Core Administration.
Responsibilities
Provide key support to the Business Plan process for assigned divisions, which includes working closely with divisional management and faculty to prepare and review business plan drafts for submission.
Work closely with the Faculty Practice Organization to ensure timely approval of submitted plans.
Responsible for the monitoring and tracking of performance of divisional financial objectives by providing monthly and quarterly reports regarding, RVUs, revenue, expenses, account balances, variance reporting, among other measures. Elevate information as appropriate.
Assist divisions and Core Administration on financial and budgetary preparation and oversight.
Appropriately provide information needed in high-level decision-making process.
Support divisions and Core Administration in strategic planning initiatives.
Provide data, facilitate dialog, and respond appropriately.
Manage a team of two financial analysts who assist in delivering all reporting and analysis data.
Provide succinct information and data presentation for appropriate levels within CUIMC.
Perform other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance or other quantitative field, or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience in business or similar institutional administration
Must possess strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and articulate
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to work with complex financial models
Must be meticulous in quantitative detail
Willingness and ability to learn new systems entailing large amounts of data
Prior management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Finance or other quantitative field
Experience in an academic, large private practice, or hospital
Other Requirements
Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
