Job Title: Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Job Purpose:
Based in our New York office, the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is responsible for monitoring the company’s performance and influencing decision making for the areas under its scope. This person will understand and analyze the various business drivers to produce monthly reporting for the business/HQ and assess any R&O.
PROFILE
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Proactive monitoring of yearly and monthly targets in collaboration with business partners. Provide departments with monthly/quarterly reports and ensure that they stay within budget and any variances to plan are bridged and explained while risks/opportunities are identified.
Understand and analyze components and processes involved in each P&L line under the manager’s scope (Selling, Admin & CapEx). Deep dive into the transactional details is often required and full comprehension of the P&L (from top line to bottom line) is expected.
Proactively challenge costs and allocations of costs.
Analyze current trend in key performance indicators and causes of unexpected variances.
Construction and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
Participate in monthly closing and analysis for the company.
Calculate expense accruals, analyze actual results versus budgeted results and Balance Sheet accounts.
Reporting monthly on financial information to HQ and management in a timely manner.
Identification and analysis of financial risks.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis related to the current business or new projects.
Work cross-functionally with the accounting team and various departments.
Lead all aspects of the continued development of Budgeting and Financial Forecasting.
Provide management with a regular status on each topic.
Skills and Competencies
A minimum of 5+ years relevant experience.
Analytical, curious, and critical (able to challenge status-quo and influence partners).
Ability to build strong relationships with key business partners.
Ability to work in a time sensitive, accurate, fast-paced environment. Changing gears is often required.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written). Ability to deliver information in a clear, effective, and concise manner.
Ability to take initiative and work independently under pressure.
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledgeable in ERP system (AX/SAP is a plus).
A comprehensive understanding of the retail industry and its product life cycles is preferred.
French or Spanish is a plus.
