Job Summary
We are seeking a Finance Director, Operations to join our Biologics finance team. The finance director will support all aspects of the Biologics business. This role will have one direct report.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working with the site teams to develop and administer accurate weekly and monthly forecasting and annual budget preparation
• Preparing financial summaries including key performance indicators for business reviews, management reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning
• Preparing analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results compared to forecast, budget, and prior year, including market impacts, currency fluctuations, etc.
• Performing complex analyses including year-to-year comparisons and determining margins on new goods and/or services for forecasting and pricing purposes
• Developing, implementing, and analysing appropriate key performance indicators optimally to improve business performance
• Developing and analysing cost analytics, including but not limited to standard costings and absorption analysis for performance of the business
• Developing, implementing, and analysing commercial analytics, such as customer performance, service line profitability and price/volume/mix
• Working with financial reporting systems to analyse the business and developing into a subject matter expert on our financial reporting systems
• Working closely with Procurement on the CBRE project and with HR on Work Force Planning projects
• Working closely with internal business partners, providing financial expertise on processes and value-added management to support them in achieving their objectives
• Educating internal leaders on budget management to support good understanding of their accountability and ownership
• Developing new approaches, processes, or methods to solve new business problems, acting as an agent of change and continuously re-evaluating process to achieve expected earnings growth
• Assisting Corporate Finance regarding the provision of information to internal and external auditors, including statutory reporting
• Partnering with CRL Tax team to ensure we are meeting obligations, effectively managing associated risks, and ensuring local requirements such as statutory tax reporting, are completed
• Working with Corporate Accounting, Shared Services, Controllers, and Internal Audit staff, ensuring company’s adherence to corporate governance standards (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley), pertinent regulatory requirements and corporate finance/accounting policies, practices, and procedures
Job Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent required.
• Experience: 10-12 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial analysis.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Certification/Licensure: MBA, CPA or CMA designation preferred.
• Travel: Be willing to travel up to 25%
• Other: Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, project management and organizational skills required. Comprehensive understanding of operational, sales and financial issues for business unit required.
