Responsibilities
This position has the capability to be a telecommute position and does not need to office out of Fargo, ND
The Accountant is responsible for preparing analyzing financial results for CHI Health at Home-Fargo Division and providing accounting support to ensure the agencies meet internal and external reporting and filing deadlines. The Accountant is also responsible for providing sound accounting information on a timely basis; providing management with concise and timely analyses as to significant changes, trends or variances in information.

Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality HIPAA protected health information.
Requires the preparation of the annual financial audit, tax return and timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external customers.
Assists with the preparation of annual budget and cost reporting for Medicare and Medicaid.
Manages AP functions for division and acts as a resource to agency staff to resolve issues and concerns.
Reconciles general ledger accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to subsidiary ledgers.
Prepares standard and adjusting journal entries
Prepares analysis of accounts to produce weekly, monthly and annual management reports.
Generates accurate monthly financial statements in a timely manner and meets all agency financial reporting requirements in addition to managing financial audits.
Works with Operations and various Corporate departments in performing modeling and analysis of various activities, both financial and statistical, that provides information to base decisions upon.
Works with Operations in training and educating accounting and financial information, and how to use information to better manage the business.
Analyzes operating results on an ongoing basis to understand business trends and mix changes that can impact the the Fargo Divison operating results.
Recommends, develops and establishes policies and procedures to improve and/or maintain adequate controls in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsible for maintaining necessary controls to ensure the confidential nature of financial and payroll information.

Qualifications
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA Preferred
5-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a health care environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of accounting principles. Proficient at financial modeling systems using Excel spreadsheets and understanding of computerized accounting
Preferred
Knowledge of long-range financial planning and annual budget process
